405 Bourke Street
Melbourne, Victoria
Lighting plays a crucial part in the identity of 405 Bourke Street, a project known to the client and the design team as "The Lantern"
Behind the buildings striking glass facade sits an unforgettable foyer experience. This voluminous space is home to our custom-made HSeries installation.
At 10m long, 7m wide and 5m high, this impressive lighting installation is a key element of the space. Ultimately, it was selected for its ability to connect with the overall design ethos of the project.
The rhythm of CBD’s grid emerges in de-constructed form via multiple reflections and repetitions that refract and absorb light across the facade’s laminated edges – playing off the energy of the city. - Woods Baggot
The lighting design by WSP focusses on the core design ideas of lamination, reflection and verticality in line with the architectural inspiration drawn from the sculptural work of artist Gerhard Richter. - WSP
