Navicula by David Trubridge

Navicula Pendant by David Trubridge is a sculptural light piece suitable for interior residential and commercial spaces. Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, Navicla is inspired by the organic forms in nature. The curved shape and patterns are derived from the many microscopic diatoms that float around our oceans. 

A tiny organism with a huge impact. They take more carbon out of the atmosphere than anything else - more than all the world’s tropical rainforests. Through photosynthesis, they liberate enough oxygen for our every second breath.

Unique from every angle, Navicula casts an indirect glow of light, softly illuminating surrounding surfaces. Perfect for lighting dining and living rooms, hotel and office foyers as well as bars and restaurants.

Inspired by nature, David Trubridge has a strong focus on sustainability. Each design follows a variety of sustainability factors including:

• EPD accredited product
• FSC certified Bamboo grown in renewable forests
• E0 laminating glue avoids harmful toxins
• Minimal wastage produced
• Water-based paints (Coloured one side or both side versions)
• Flatpack international shipping vastly reduces freight impacts

Navicula is available in 3 sizes ranging from 1500mmL to 2500mmL.

The Bamboo plywood finish is available in natural or painted on either one or both sides.

Natural and coloured one side: supplied with white suspension cable and clear clips

Black both sides: supplied with black clips

The flowing, segmented form is shipped as a flatpack and assembled on-site with push-in clips. However, our team can assemble them for you. Simply ask us!
