Il Fanale

Established: 1979
Origin: Italy

Rooted in Italian heritage, Il Fanale is a world-famous lighting design house. The brand blends traditional Mediterranean craft with modern shapes.

The Dalla Torre family started working with metal and design back in 1979 near Treviso. Fausto Dalla Torre and Luisa Martin founded a passionate workshop. From there, the family built a top name in high-end Italian lighting. Today, the second generation, Marzia and Tomas, runs the business. Their lights are not just elegant and useful feature pieces. They are timeless visual stories that balance light, shadow, and raw materials.

Artisanal Material Masterclass

Through decades of testing, Il Fanale created its own special metal finish system. These metals age gracefully over time. The brand mixes them with other excellent regional crafts, using handmade Murano glass and Bassano ceramics in the final fixtures.

Unique Methods

The brand uses many creative production methods. They do not just cast standard metal. They also hand-bind glass and use precise regional ceramic moulding. They even invent living finishes like Marea and Gradient Brass.

Environmentally Minded

As a leader in decorative lighting, Il Fanale cares deeply about the environment. They use a 100% local supply chain to keep their business eco-friendly. For example:

  • They use only reusable or recyclable packaging, completely cutting out polystyrene.
  • On-site solar panels power the production plant with clean energy.
  • Technical parts use very little plastic, relying instead on durable, eco-friendly metals.
  • They keep waste low and recycle or reuse all scrap metal safely.
  • They make timeless products built to last for generations to reduce waste.

Il Fanale is available in Australia through Lumen8 Architectural Lighting.
