The newly renovated Maserati Showroom on Turbot Street in Fortitude Valley is a shining example of a lighting design created while working under the guide of a strong corporate identity. Maserati's corporate identity brief guided the architect through designing the showroom lighting, while Lumen8 aided in the design and supplying of the products. The two main elements to the lighting included the general lighting of the showroom and the lighting of the Maserati products. For the general showroom lighting, the main light source utilised was Lumen8's Logikline LED profile (in 21 watt). The point of difference with the use of this lighting were the variances in colour temperature used in the same space. 3000k warm white was used for the vertical cove & light-line details, whilst 4000k cool white was used to highlight the barrisols and the niche details. For direct task lighting in office spaces, the P.Midi lineal profile with inbuilt LEDs from Planlicht were the luminaires of choice. For the lighting of the showroom products, the main light source used was a 3000 lumen, CRI 90+ downlight from RAAT. This provided a bright, clean light with excellent colour rendering to show off all the detail and exact true-to-life colours of the products. These lights provided the beams of light which surround the cars, and they showcase all aspects of the car's details- including the wheels.
