Ironlak's flagship Art and Design store in Central Park, Sydney was designed by Fat Projects, and constructed by MD Shopfitters. The lighting was supplied by Lumen8. This ultra-cool, graffiti adorned space is a reflection of street art culture, and the product that it sells. Being a store that sells spray paint and art supplies, making sure the colours are shown accurately is very important. There also needs to be extreme versatility due to ever changing product displays. For these reasons, Orco track lights were supplied in CRI>90 and 3000k; track lights offer flexible / movable directional light which works perfectly in retail settings. The high Colour Rendering (CRI) also means that the colours show true to life. In the cabinetry, the Logikline Wedge profile with 3k, 21 watt tape and CRI>85 was chosen as it angles the light into the shelf, yet remains a slimline, non-obtrusive profile. There were also Pivot surface mount fittings used around the space including in the large feature ring of spray paint cans. These lights were used as they make a nice, slimline, regular surface mount fitting that can be angled if more flexibility is needed.
